Look at those kids with their buttoned shirts and their huge
glasses and the way they walk with a small hunch and especially with their
pants pulled all the way up, they must be as Alek would say “nerds”. Or look at
those people, wearing all black clothes and have long boisterous hair, with
their melancholy face expressions, they must be Emos. Or look at those guys and
girls strutting around like they own the place, with their Hollister brand
clothes and their puffed up chests and their phony smiles, they must be jocks and
preppy kids. All of these assumptions based on first glances and appearances.
At times appearances can be quite deceiving and can make us think twice about
interacting with that certain person. We will never truly get to know a person
just by looking at them, we must actually TALK to them and interact with them.
WHAT TALK TO OTHERS OUTSIDE OF OUR “SOCIAL” BUBBLE!? As the saying goes, DON’T
JUDGE A BOOK BY IT’S COVER. Another thing is that the way we “dress and groom
ourselves sends messages about you to others and influences the way you and
others act” (For the Strength of Youth:
Fulfilling Our Duty to God)
We (I included as well) must STOP,
giving a damn (it’s in the Bible) about what others think of our dress and
appearance and express our selves. I am not saying to break the school dress
and appearance standards, but we should wholesomely independently express
ourselves. Our generation is too concerned with fitting in with the new trends,
which most of the time are immodest, shear, and revealing. “We should not lower
our dress and appearance standards. Doing so sends a message that [we] are
using our body to get attention and approval and that modesty is important only
when convenient” (For the Strength of Youth: Fulfilling Our Duty to God)
In America we are all given the
freedom of expression and liberty to voice our opinions which are of
substantial use. Every women and man has the agency endowed by their creator to
choose whatever they may want, however we are not free to choose the
consequences. Every person’s opinions are value in this great country of
America and are taken into account.
Many people today date people only
because they same economical status and if they are desirable in their eyes. I
believe this is only lust and prejudices against other people who personal
merits and honorable qualities are neglected because they are not rich enough
or beautiful enough in the sight of others. We (I included) must learn not look
upon the countenance of others and judge them outwardly, but to look to their
contents of their hearts and see their good merits and qualities. However we
judge others, by the same way we shall be judged.
I agree on some points and disagree on others. I agree people shouldn't try to fit in, just to be yourself. However I do not agree on what you said how people become couples because of social and economical status. I did not get in a relationship based on these standards.
ReplyDeleteThis is not to be taken personal. I should have used better diction in the first sentence, But at least I said "Most" and not "All". But yes I should have not generalized it and should have said some people.
DeleteYou are right in some ways but you are are also wrong. For the majority of the people the economical status doesn't matter it's about what's inside.
ReplyDeleteP.S. practice what you preach.
Yes I should have not said "most", should have use better word usage. I get it. I'm am not going to because we know how this is would end. (Foreshadowing)
DeleteI like how you had brought Christianity references into this.
